Pork hock is also known as pork knuckle. Although a relatively cheap cut, slowly boiled /simmered produces the sweetest tasting bacon where the meat just falls off the bone. At FX Buckley we cure pork hocks with our own traditional recipe for 2/3 days and it makes the most wonderful bacons hocks.

The best way to cook a bacon hock is to slowly them for over an hour and a half to two hours, depending on the weight. Try finishing off the bacon hock in the oven after glazing it with honey. Absolutely delicious finger-licking delight when properly prepared.

Serving suggestion: Try serving the bacon hock with cabbage, buttery mash potato for a real classic Irish dish.
